well its for a tv for one thing.
you can't really use plays 1s or a 5 as a tv soundbar. sonos makes sure of that by giving you ZERO inputs (i think the 5 has a 3.5 headphone jack)

The play 5 blows it out the water. Not sure about a stereo pair of play 1’s. I don’t have a pair of those set up right now to A and B them but the Beam is a little louder, cleaner, and boomier than one Play 1.

i think the 5 is overpriced unless you can grab it for like $300.
stereopaired 1s are extremely flexible and you will get better separation since you can decide where to place them.

So somewhere between a 3 and a 5?
I have a stereo pair of 1s in my living room at the moment. Thinking about adding a beam and either using them as surrounds or leaving em paired on the other side of the room. Not a huge space.

I’ve played with it a little more now and moved it from a table in the middle of a big room to a piece of furniture under a TV on the wall. I’m pretty impressed with the output of this thing. I can see this cutting into playbar sales.
