I'm about to pull the trigger on the OnePlus One, thoughts?

Does anyone have one? I know there was talk on this board about them.

From the latest reviews it appears they fixed the call volume issue. The camera isn't the BEST but it's serviceable for all I need.

For $349 for 64GB seems like the way to go, and I like the black color better anyway.

Quick thoughts? They are available without an invite on Tuesdays obviously.

I had interest when they came out but the invite only stuff kept me away.

Now it's almost a year later and the tech has cycled further from it. Is it 350 without a contract I assume? I would personally wait for the M9 or S6, but I always want the latest and greatest.

That or wait for the one plus two. I think it comes out this year.

Yeah, no contract.

What exactly is outdated already?

I really thought about it, but I decided against it when I realized that it didn't have a removable battery or removable storage.

Those aren't huge factors for me. I've currently have a permanent battery and it's fine.

I may have to wait for the OnePlus Two now. It's got a 20MP camera and a metallic frame (similar to the Samsungs) rather than the polycarbonate is has now.

It might be much more expensive though.

The note 4 is amazing. I wanna throw that out there.

OnePlus 2 comes out in Q3 2015, I don't want to wait that long. And I think it's gonna be too expensive to be worth it to me. The camera would be nice and I think it'll have the snapdragon 810 along with the metallic construction.

It's in my cart, I'm just gonna do it.

Someone was on here the other day saying they were going to get rid of their's because it was too buggy.

People are always on here asking for or giving away invites, but I haven't really heard many reviews from people that have had them for a while.

I've had one for about 3 months and I am very happy with it.

I also don't push my phone all that hard.

I use about 10 core apps, and bluetooth in the car. All I've done is add Nova Launcher for the single pane home-screen that I like and rolled along.

I had a Note 3 before I got this one, and I'm much happier with how simple and clean the OS is.

I have no trouble with battery life, and I get good call quality.

I've had one for about 6 months now and really like it. It was half the price of other top Android phones at the time and does everything I want it to. Battery life has been great too. The one negative thing about the OnePlus company is their customer support is lacking since it's more of a startup. So I'd definitely keep a backup phone. If you have any issues and need to return it, I've heard it can take a while. I haven't had to deal with any of that stuff, so my experience has been great. Just things I've read.

Also, both Lollipop and Oxygen OS should be out next week for it.

Best phone I've ever owned and it isn't close. I gave up note 4 and nexus 6.

Nothing but good things to say and the battery runs on unicorn blood as it runs forever

Not that the nexus wasn't awesome, it was, but a little too big.
The note 4 had too much bloatware and otherwise awesome.

This phone is perfect for my needs and requires little upkeep.

Its also wide open as far as setup and that was the deal sealer for me.

Best way to compare phone is to
say it isn't the overall "best" at any category but it is really great in every category .

You will enjoy the cyanogen operating system as far as pure Android os

Do you think it'll ship with Oxygen or Lollipop?

Or just the regular Cyanogen?

When I mentioned Lollipop, I actually meant CyanogenMod 12S. My guess is that it won't ship with that, but you'll have an OTA update very quickly after getting it, maybe right out of the box (It will likely ship with CyanogenMod 11S). The Oxygen OS that they will be offering must be manually loaded onto the phone. I think the plan is to have Oxygen OS as the default OS starting with the OnePlus Two.

Had mine for 4 months now and love it. Haven't found it to be buggy at all. I used to love rooting and installing custom ROMs, but the fact that it comes shipped with CM alleviates the need to root for me. I know some others may disagree but CM has all the tweaks that I really could want in the phone.

Camera is fine--unless you're trying to do a full on photo shoot, in which case you should not be using a cell phone camera regardless of the manufacturer, then the OP1 serves the purpose just fine.

CyanogenMod will only be supporting the OP1, so as the OP2 will be shipped with Oxygen I'm not biting. Plus it'll be more expense. For the cost of the OP1 at $350 for a 64GB, it really is the best bang for your buck. And honestly, I think it feels a lot better in my hand than the plastic crap that Sammy is putting out, not to mention a fraction of the cost.

Without firsthand knowledge, do you think I'd be better off loading Oxygen or just using the OTA CM 12S if available?

I'm personally going to hold off for about a month and read what other people are saying about each. I'll weigh the pros and cons and see what I think would be better. My guess is that 12S will be better since Oxygen OS will be an initial release.

Sounds reasonable.
