Just wondering if anyone here has a preference between Samsung Crystal UHD and the QLED. Price difference is about $400 for the QLED. Not a big deal if QLED is noticeably that much better.

And I am assuming Samsung is better than LG.

TIA

QLED is going to better than UHD in terms of more vibrant colors, deeper blacks, brightness, and glare resistance. The only downside from what I've seen is the viewing angle is smaller than UHD (55 degrees each side).

I've heard LG has really good OLED's but cant speak on it as I've always bought Samsung because I'm used to the app navigation. Hopefully this helps.

There's absolutely no comparison to be made between a display resolution and a backlighting technology

Okay, does this mean that they are the same to the naked eye or that one is vastly superior?

QLED is a marketing scheme to confuse buyers with OLED. OLED is much better and worth the extra money. You can always find great deals on the previous generation models.

Samsung has had the most problems with their display glass from all of the manufacturers on larger pictures. LG or Sony unless you are just buying the biggest picture for the lowest price.

He's referring to Samsung's lowest level tvs the Crystal UHD series, not the resolution.

OP, go with the QLED over the Crystal UHD series. The QLED is now Samsung's mid tier range as they now produce OLEDs. Last year's Samsung OLED is th best price/performance. Samsung didn't market it so they are significantly cheaper than their current model.

As far as LG, go with last year's OLED over this years. Cheaper and pretty much same quality. Avoid LG LED/LCD tvs as much as possible.

LG or Sony OLED technology is the best. You will pay a little more but you can buy the previous years model at a lower price.

Unfortunately, Sony no longer makes a 70"

That's what I need, and I forgot to put that in the OP.

Thanks to all for in input.

I have about 10 Lg TVs in the back and about 5 Samsung. I do tech and repairs. I shouldn't have to say anything more than just the count for ya to know who I'm picking out the two.lol

“10 LGs and 5 Samsungs”

Zero SONYs should say even more.

Sony is more expensive for a reason.

I have had 3 LGs just stop working. One was fixed during warranty, then did the exact same thing less than 1 year from the repair, but more than 1 year from purchase. They would not fix it. frick LG.
