DirecTV. I just see zero reason to leave Cox though. I've never ever had an issue with my internet after I bought my own modem and router. My bill stays the same also.

They wanted $70 for 50 mbps from me since no more bundling. I'm giving UVerse a try. If it sucks, I have no problem going back.

Does DirecTV go out during thunderstorms? I’ve been thinking of switching to satellite.

Not always & even if it does you can watch SD channels just fine.

ATT is one of the worst companies in this country. I'll never use them for anything ever again. And their DSL internet is shitty. and cable tv is overpriced no matter who it's from.

They are all full of shite. I talked to a retention rep from Att yesterday and got 25 megs for $60.89 (final cost/no increases) a month. I was paying a little over $70. She made it sound like Att is putting a lot more effort into Uverse TV, when all the talk is about it going out of production and more emphasis on DTV. .
What I don't understand is why don't they bundle Direct Tv now with the internet. They can't fully explain other than it's the same company but a different entity. Whatever! I think it's all about the cap on band width.

You can always go standard definition when it rains bad enough. You'll get a signal. Or better yet, cut the cord and stream. Streaming is not prone to weather conditions like DirecTV.

I just fired them. They nickel and dime you too much. I find it ridiculous that they charge $10 a month plus tax just for an HD signal. OTA HD signal is far better in quality. Stream the non=local channels.

Speaking of DirecTV....

They have some sneaky technology to get you on a sales channel. Let's say I'm watching a channel and then I go to directly input the channel number in, 206. It will accept the 2... just to put me on the sales channel on channel 2. I have constantly been bombarded with Dr Ho's back pain solution. When I go to put 206 in again, it readily accepts it and changes me to ESPN. It doesn't put me on my local NBC 5 station when I try to input 501 - but channel 2 helps me to learn how to Never Rake Again!

1. Press Mute & Select button on the remote at the same time until the remote light blinks twice
2. Press 9 6 3 Channel Down
3. Remote blinks multiple times to indicate it accepted step 2 code above.

This may help with the always going to channel 2 problem. It turns off the step where the remote checks the receiver ID when the remote has been inactive for a while.
