How can I get my photos from iCloud.com back on my phone?

I turned off iCloud and it zapped all my photos.
I want them in my camera roll until I can back them up to a computer. I don’t want them in cyberspace.
Any tips?

Sounds like you need to transfer them from your iCloud to your Photos. If you turned off iCloud and your photos “zapped” I guess they were only on the iCloud.

I thought it used to ask if you wanted to download them if your turned it off on a device, but I haven’t done it this way in a while.
If photos still on iCloud and If your phone has enough space turn iCloud Photos back on (and iCloud if you completely logged out) and then select download and keep originals also in settings/photos. Depending on amount and network it could take a while. Sometimes it wasn’t always obvious it was still downloading originals in app, so I would also compare Photos storage amount in iCloud to amount in iPhone Storage (settings/general/iPhone storage) to check progress as well.
At that point you have full versions on phone and on iCloud. If you turn off iCloud photos on phone while keeping full versions on phone outside of new pics you may still have pics on iCloud that once you 100% verify all are staying phone (and backed up or your lose them if phone bricks or has to be wiped) you can delete photos on iCloud or on phone disable storing on iCloud under settings/appleID/iCloud/manage storage/Photos . I would still wait several days after turning off iCloud Photos and make sure everything stays on phone as expected before completely deleting them off iCloud.
If icloud photos is still on for your phone and you accidentally delete photos on iCloud.com and then delete completely from trash they are gone. There are a few things you can recover, but I don’t think photos deleted from trash can be.

Plug your phone into a PC and then transfer

They’re backed up the cloud already assuming you pay for the monthly storage.
If so just turn it back on. But, it won’t be the local versions anymore and they won’t be downloaded.
If you want a local version on a PC that badly, you should be able to download them on that PC from iCloud.com

Not a fan of the iCloud system. Difficult to download to PC also.
