You're up Schitt Creek if you can't use Cox or at&t there in BR.

Unless you want to pay out of the arse for this: LINK /

There may be other options. Stay away from any of that satellite internet crap. It's slow, and the data caps make it pretty much worthless. It's basically a last resort.

There are tons of brands that can give you Wi-Fi without either of those two.

However, you are very very very limited if you want to connect that Wi-Fi to the internet.

That is a clear a resounding YES.

Folks you have an ISP (Internet Service Provider). There are usually at MOST 3 companies in your area that provide Internet capabilities.

The two boxes you buy at Best Buy are a wireless modem / wireless router. You can even buy one that contains both inside one box.

These boxes have different manufacturers: Belkin, ASUS, LinkSys, Netgear, Motorola, etc.

You are welcome.

Edit: Your ISP provides service. Those boxes allow you to tap into said service and provide LAN/WiFi to your home or place of business.

what this person is trying to tell you is that you want to know what internet service provider options there are, not wifi options.

Interesting factoid:

WiFi actually is a Kleenex/Xerox type work that originated from the first company that started it. The WiFi Alliance was the trade association to hold the WiFi trademark under which most products are sold.

Also WLAN whish is known as Wireless LAN actually stood for WaveLAN underwhich were the ones who invented the wireless products and invented "WiFi"

I had to get the specifics off of Wiki but i knew the jist prior.

Lol I am glad you actually posted this because I edited my original post from LAN/WLAN to LAN/WiFi because I didn't want to confuse the ill informed folks lol.
