All this disappointment isn't driving down AAPL as much as I hoped. down 0.84% so far today. I was hoping it would be more like 1.5-2%
ETA: Never mind, down 2.1% currently.

Sad to see the digital audio out not included in the new Apple TV. It made it real easy for me to put music on during commercials.

Well this is very interesting to me since for the last 3-4 years I've been working on an EHR system. On the windows side....is it a windows mobile app or a true desktop application?
Both. The Windows desktop application is more full-featured, as you would presume. The GUI is dreadful on the desktop version, and the mobile OS is significantly better at viewing data. The mobile version is hampered by being read-only/no order input option, but the UI is beautiful. There's a new update that will actually have the desktop version appear more like the mobile version in the next 6 months.
Delving further into the mobile apps, the Windows Mobile app will not supply me with the vitals- it appears to be an unpopulated field while it shows up perfectly on the iOS app (this makes absolutely no sense to me. They look identical. I suppose someone mis-mapped the fields and there isn't enough Windows mobile app use to really make anyone wonder about it, but that's just a guess). In terms of mobile utility, it's a matter of preference as to which one you'd rather have in your white coat pocket. Today, I'd rather the iOS one at my side than the win mobile or full-fledged desktop app for a handful of reasons, but at this point, we're getting too specific. But at the same point, getting this specific is why things like the iPad Pro are now out there. Just because it's more expensive and limited overall doesn't necessarily mean it's cost-prohibitive for industry-specific tasks. It's not for me at this point, but I could definitely see it being implemented where there's a need, regardless of the MSP3/4's price.

How much do you think you've been paying for the earlier models?
I haven't. I buy unlocked Android phones.

Haven't been able to follow much today, though I saw generally what the announcements were. How is this being received?
I like the idea of the SP3 competitor, but I wouldn't go in for the first round for that price.

I was really hoping they would announce a TV service.
same here.... i don't really care about playing "mobile" games on my tv and i don't need siri's assistance when i watch tv either, so the new apple tv is something I'm not interested in

Always amusing people actually think that iPad pro is a competitor to the sp3.
It's a 13" iPhone. That's it. It pales in comparison

Look nice. I'll end up with the 6S+.
I asked in the other thread, but does anyone know if I'd be able to purchase my next iPhone through the apple payment plan if I'm not out of my current plan with VW yet?
I'm currently on their Edge plan and would be staying on it. I just don't want to have to upgrade through them, I'd prefer to do it with Apple to get the free AppleCare. I'd obviously plan on returning the 6+ to VW as it isn't paid off.

Hoping I can get this answer as I'm switching to Verizon whenever I get the phone.

At worst you could probably pay off the Verizon phone and sell it outright
That would probably get you a better return anyway if you do it right

Has this been going on a while? You sound like this is a concept that has amused you for years.
Anyway, I'm sure it will challenge the SP3, that doesn't mean they share the same space. But yeah, pen functionality, keyboard, Microsoft Office, that'll check a lot of SP3 boxes for a lot of people.

I'm not confused in the least. Do you honestly think the pro and the pen and the keyboard have nothing to do with competing with the SP3?
I'm an SP3 owner. I have a handful of friends who also own SP3s, and I'm aware of only one who uses it as a business machine. The others, like myself, use theirs as a travel computer, a supplementary computer, or a more productive tablet. This is admittedly anecdotal, but I'm guessing a large swath of SP3 owners, or those interested in purchasing one, have the same thing in mind.
To many, many people "run full Windows" means they can work from it, something you can't do easily from most Google or Apple tablets. But I'm betting (and so is Apple) that they really mean "runs Office and has a usable keyboard."

Well let me explain a real world use case where an iPad Pro would be far superior:
Auditors doing on site visits. They have zero need for file system access. They just have a need to receive and handle-and perhaps manipulate-a simple .txt or .csv file.
These auditors have ZERO need to access the file System. They need to receive emails, edit basic text files or csvs and upload to a secure web portal. With limited IT experience and nothing beyond basic email and Excel experience, you don't want these people adjusting the device in any way. iOS devices allow your IT staff to know the system is bolted down and can't be adjusted or utilized in a manner other than professional/enterprise.
Better yet, why not sink $15k into a custom app and then lock the iOS device down so it can only use the app and email? Would be a fantastic low maintenance use case for users of vastly different tech capability/aptitude.

In the real world, auditors who don't need file system access rely on the secure web portal like you mentioned. Why would they be getting a iPad Pro or a SP3?

I mean, if that's all they need, then why spend 1k on a tablet when a $300 PC will do just fine?

So without reading 9 pages is Apple TV still garbage or have they finally come out with a Sling TV like plan?
