Tempted to jump on this. Looking at sites like rtings it seems like its weaknesses are in things that are important to me: bright room/anti glare, good for sports, and wide viewing angle especially when compared to my current choice Samsung Q80R. It's living room TV in new house with surround sound ETC so not looking to cheap out, but at this price point I'm wondering if I should get the TCL. Thoughts?

I have the 75" 6 Series and it is fantastic. I wish I had waited on the 8, but I was tired of not having a TV in my den.

Same price as the 6-series 75" coming out next month.. Pull the trigger on last years 8 or wait for the 6?

Depends on if you care about the base I guess. 8 has a center base where the 6 has the feet on the ends.

They both utilize the micro LED technology.

Same price as the 75 inch Samsung Q60R. Is this one better? Just not familiar with TCL like I am with Samsung and Sony.

ikr very good question.

center base is definitely better, but i did read the the 65" and 75" new 6 series have adjustable positioning of the legs.

i feel like if you are getting a tv this size, it's still best to mount.. but that may just be me. idk.

i think i would lean towards getting the new 6 series, but i don't know technical specs. i recognize they both use mini leds.

You keep saying that but never explain why.

Pretty much every Chinese company is quasi-government owned. I would want anything Chinese made with an internet connection, microphone, or camera anywhere near my home.

I work in cyber-security for a tech solutions company. Chinese steal way more than intellectual property.

We are in a new cold war and honestly our government is losing. They are doing very little to protect American companies and citizens.

The company I work for used to write off tens of millions every year in tax deductions for fraudulent acts. In 2018 under the new tax codes businesses are no longer able to do so.

In 2019 we lost close to 40 million. This a company that does about 6 billion in revenue. Most of the work is third party work so the profit margins are slim .I could only imagine what's going on at Fortune 500 companies with 100 of millions in revenue.

Its so many individuals and organized that I know its state sponsored. We can't get help from the FEDs or Interpol.

They know whats happening and are overwhelmed because they don't have the man power to chase it all down.

I just can't knowingly support anything China or any American company that does business with the Chinese government.

Thanks for the explanation
