hate iPhone’s “live photo” function

Why can’t this be permanently disabled. Those pics hog tons of memory on my cloud for nothing.
I have “preserve settings” option selected but it constantly defaults back to “live”.
Any fixes?

When I turn it off, mine does not default back to on unless selected.

Once you switch it off it stays if you have it set that way.
Settings>Camera>Preserve Settings - Live Photo - On.

I like it, gives me some options on which frame I want to keep and does a few other things like allowing for a long exposure picture that's pretty cool. And if you really don't like it you can just turn it off.

I have a young child who hates sitting still for pics, but I’ve found that the Live Photo option is great for that because of there is a split second where he is making a normal looking face, I can use that for my photo...
You have to learn how to use shite before you deem it ‘useless’...

Burst works as well, but you only have certain shots to choose from. I prefer LIVE for taking photos of the little ones, but I understand that’s subjective
