I have had DTN since last August. At the time I signed up, they were running a special and if I signed up for 3 months, I got half price on the package (I got the $50 a month plan) and an Apple TV. They shipped the Apple TV and I got it in less than a week. About a month later they ran the HBO special and I got a mailing from AT&T that because I have unlimited data on my phones, they would give me the HBO Special, which is free "for life" as long as you keep the AT&T phone plan. The Apple worked great on my TV but I was in the market for a new TV and bought a TCL with the built in Roku. The wifi reading on the TV was "Excellent" according to the settings on the TV but I started having buffering problems especially at night during peak wqatching hours (6pm-11pm). There's a thread here that addresses buffing with DTN. It got bad and I was really frustrated with the service and considered calling or even cancelling. A friend at work has DTN and Cox internet (I have AT&T50) and he has never experienced buffering at all. We compared setups and the only thing (besides the internet) was that he was using Apple TV. I connected the Apple TV to my new tv and haven't had any issues with buffering since! I don't know if it's the Roku in the tv or what the problem was and honestly don't care at this point as long as I'm getting a good, clean stream. From other things I've read it appears that DTN runs best on Apple TV and I will soon be getting the 4k version.

tl,dr - There's a reason AT&T gives Apple TV's with the DTN service and I think they know there's an issue with other streaming receivers.

Joe it’s not just DTVN everything works better on Apple TV. Roku is the highest selling units, but for the life of me I can’t figure out why as it’s the crappiest of them all. I have Apple TV, Roku tv, Roku stick, amazon fire stick, fire tv and nvidia shield and Apple TV beats them all. Unless you are into kodi, then nvidia shield is the way to go.

Signed up for a month so I can get the new firetv

So I’ll have the FireTv 4k for man cave 4k tv and the new HDR firetv with my 4K HDR tv

No local channels for me and with Vue I got dallas local even being 3 hours away. But I got mtv now

Will probably switch back to Vue when my month is over but both my subscriptions over lap. Still have a few days left with Vue

After playing around with DTVNow, I prefer the guide and interface with Vue, that and with DTVNow when switching channels you have to wait for the picture to clear up. Doesn't happen with Vue.

I already have DTVN but I signed up with my wife’s name on Tuesday to get the fire tv for $35 to put kodi on in the bedroom and I just got it today. Pretty damn fast.
