Seems a little short-sighted in light of their efforts now. Come to think of it, that was allegedly their goal for Motorola in the first place. To use them to produce branded, flagship-type phones.

Sounds like this may be another reason why they reorganized and implemented Alphabet. Several fairly large backfires and now they're doubling back down a path they were already perfectly positioned for before getting themselves out of it.

Happens all the time in all different businesses. I worked for a company years ago in Florence, AL, called Salem Screen Printing. They were bought out by Fruit of the Loom just for the licenses they held with every sports entity known to mankind (NFL, NCAA, MLB, NHL, etc..). They then in-turn shut the factory down and put many, many people out of work. It was cheaper for them to buy the company than it would have been to go out and get their own licenses.

I would be more worried about my battery blowing up in the Note 7 than the CPU about to be old news. Samsung has stopped shipping the Note 7 due to the battery issue.

What's the best deal you guys have seen on a nexus 5x so far?

What is a good price point I should be looking at for a new 5x once the new phones come out?

You definitely shouldn't spend more than $200.

The first Nexus phone was the Nexus One. I think the G1 was the first Android phone.
