Just got the email from Fi

Works like normal until you hit 6GB and then you pay no more. Then at 15gb you get throttled.

So I assume that means highest bill possible now is $20 + 6GB at $10 = $80.

Ya this will allow me to let my guard down a bit during certain situations, which is probably a positive for Google as well. They may get some folks to use an extra GB and collect an extra $10 they wouldn't get.

I'm very happy with this development as sometimes staying under 3 or 2GBs occasionally leads to some annoyances.

Too bad the service sucks arse. Had my wife on it for a year. Absolutely horrible. Back to AT&T and all is great. I can actually call her.

Sorry to hear that. I suppose Sprint and T-Mobile suck where you live too since that is the carrier networks they use, along with US Cellular.

I'm pumped, I was starting to consider alternatives like TMobile because of the data cost issue but wanting to keep international use. I never approached 4gb but just the idea bothered me.

Now that they did this I'm as locked in as ever. My first international test in Peru went well. Worked in major cities and villages, and even had spotty coverage in the middle of nowhere and on top of Machu Picchu

I'll be testing South Africa and Laos this year.

Mine wasn't horrible but it was noticeably worse than AT&T (and I'm in a major city). As in, probably a dropped call a day worse, on average.

Hardest part was losing the international benefit, but as I only travel internationally once or twice a year it's not a big deal. I just paid AT&T 140 bucks to use my phone in 5 countries, but I think it's worth the upgrade in service a time or two a year to do that.

Only gripe I have about Fi is I lost the ability for Google voice to ring to my mobile, but other than that I love it and have had no problems.
