Looking into getting a mesh system for a recently purchased home. It's 2 story and around 3200 sqft. I am leaning toward the Google Nest wifi solution, but I do have 4 Alexa devices currently. Is there gonna be an issue using Google Nest with Alexa devices. Since I am already in the amazon ecosystem should I go with eero or something alexa compatible? Is getting Wifi 6 worth the extra $$$?

eta: Budget is <$500

I have the Google Mesh with the 3 pucks and use my sonos speakers with Alexa all the time with no issues.

My wife whispered to me the other day, "What do you want for dinner?". I said, "Chicken. And why are you whispering?". She said, "I think there are people listening to us." I replied, "That's crazy. Nobody is listening to us! I mean, why would anybody want to listen to us?" I laughed. My wife laughed. Alexa laughed...

I just got an Orbi RBK752 for a similar size house and it cost me $379. Very happy with it. I had the old Google Wifi pucks prior to that. I know a lot of people are scared away by the cost of Orbi systems, but the $379 (normally $449) is pretty competitive for Wifi 6. It covers 5000 sf.

I don't know how important it is to you to be "future proof", but the Orbi is Wifi 6 for a reasonable price, and well under your budget. I believe the Google Nest is Wifi 5. FWIW, I was happy with my Google pucks, but one of them stopped working and I wasn't getting good coverage with just 2 working pucks.

Disclaimer: I'm not as knowledgeable as some on here, and my expertise is usually limited to a 30 day window whenever I buy a new wifi router, which I just did.

If you want entry level set and forget. Go Google Wifi.

If you want prosumer level customization and performance. Go Unifi set up.
