Google Fi plans (Updated)

Can't find a thread on here less than 2 years old, so I thought I would ask. I got rid of T-Mobile after almost 20 years because the service sucks in my neighborhood. I listen to music when I walk my dogs and can't get a decent signal.
I switched to Verizon because a neighbor told me they had a better signal. No. Same issue. I think it is because nobody in my neighborhood wants a tower in their sight line, so there are no 5G towers nearby. That will probably change next year, as there is a shopping center being built less than a 1/2 mile away from me, so I hope that fixes things.
In the meantime, since it seems I won't get a good signal regardless of the carrier, I'm looking at Google Fi. Most of hour data usage is via wifi, so is the cheapest plan okay for a family of 4? We would get 35 GB of data before they throttle it. I can't see us using that much unless someone turns off their wifi.
Google Fi uses T-Mobile and US Cellular towers, so it should be at least as good as the T-Mobile signal that I was using before, right?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ETA: I made the switch a few weeks ago. The coverage is the same as it was with T-Mobile, except I have a 35BGB limit on 5G data - we are over 3 weeks in and have only used 14 GB, so far. I'm paying 80 bucks for 4 phones. That is a significant drop in price from just a few months ago. So if you've looked at the price in the past and thought it was only so-so, take a look again.
The prices are as follows:
1 line - $50
2 lines - $80 ($40/line)
3 lines - $75 ($25/line)
4 lines - $80 ($20/line)
Any additional lines after 4 are $20/line.
It uses T-mobile and US Cellular towers, so theoretically, the coverage should be BETTER than T-mobile's, although US Cellular towers are all in the mid-west, so I don't see any improvement in coverage here in south Florida.

Yes, I have Fi. Pretty sure it uses T-Mobile here in Nola. It's been excellent. Had Verizon and when the 5g rolled out it just went to shite. Pretty sure I have unlimited data, also a free VPN for my pixel.

I want to make sure that I have this right. The "Simply Unlimited" plan gives me 35 GB of data before throttling. Otherwise, it's the same as the T-Mobile plan I used to have, right?
I am reading reviews, some of them fairly recent, and they all mention paying for data. They must have changed their model recently, right?

Just know that Google Fi and Mint Mobile use the TMobile network. So if your service with TMobile sucked, odds are, so will Mint and Google Fi, you'll just be paying less.

Right. It seems they throttle or something after 35. It used to be alot less data that was shared. They've increased it and lowered the price again. The data is now 35 per phone. It's full speed service unlike something like visible.

I tried Google Fi for a month. It was more expensive for me than Cricket Wireless. I pay $35/month ($5/month discount with autopay) and I get unlimited text/call, and 10GB of data. More than enough and the service is much better in my neck of the woods than Google Fi was. Cricket uses AT&T towers.

The current plan I'm looking out is 4 lines for $20/line. We get 35GB shared before slowdown begins. So, $80/month for 4 lines. That seems pretty good.
My T-Mobile service was marginally worse than Verizon, which is bad, also. I'm comfortable saving $150/month if I get the same service I had with T-Mobile. If Google Fi sucks, I may switch to Visible, which would be about $120/mth for 4 lines. Still saving over $100/mth.
Eventually, cell towers will be added on the west side of my neighborhood, and I'll find it worth it to switch to a better carrier. I just don't want to pay premium prices for shitty service. I'd rather pay cut rate prices for shitty service...

I have Fi. The real advantage it had was it's ability to use sprint towers. They have ended that with the merge. But there is more 5g towers where I use it. WiFi at home. South BR.

They updated their plans. Throttling starts at 50 GB.

I think that's for the "Unlimited Plus". I did check the website, and it's 35GB PER MEMBER, not total. I thought 35GB total was going to be enough, but 35GB per member puts us in the clear. Unless something changes, we'll never use all that.
ETA: I'm starting to think that "member' isn't the same as line, and that member is the account. I'll have to monitor.

I know, right? You might as well get a third line if you need 2...
