I just switched from an iPhone to Samsung and the battery life is acceptable but not great. I average around 5-7 hours of SOT with each charge.

What settings have yall found that have improved your battery life?

Ive heard you can get quite a bit more by sacrificing performance through adjusting settings. Just curious what yall have found that works?

I run mine full blast all the time the great thing about Samsung is it charges way faster than iPhone. Get a 45w brick from Samsung slap it on there for 30 min if you get low and enjoy the phone and all it's great features. There's optimization widgets you can install may help a little bit.

Yeah ive got an Anker power brick (45w) and ive definitely noticed it charges a good bit faster than the iPhone. I dont always have it though so I'd like to get the battery to last for a full day of usage.

Dark mode anything and everything.

What phone do you have? The S25 line has damn near 2 day battery life.

Never had a Samsung, but I have never had to do anything special with either Moto or Pixels to get excellent battery life.

I have my battery protection on maximum and slow charge it on over night charges. Just have a 5w ( I think) plug by my bed.

You can go to battery and put apps to deep sleeping and sleeping to stop or slow down the amount of background usage.

just turn on the battery saving setting and see how much that helps.

The big things are turning off bluetooth and GPS but that is an inconvenience for most people.

45w brick

So you're saying that a 45w brick charges faster than a 5w brick most Apple users from an iPhone they bought eight years ago? Shocking.

No I used the same brick to charge my iPhone but apple caps the charging at 25W I think. My Samsung will charge at the full 45W

S25 Ultra. Ive seen the phone will learn your usage patterns so maybe with time it will get better.

Have a Samsung S9 and have chargers where I spend the most time.

Kind of like having readers where they're needed.

I'm the lone Samsung holdout in a family of iPhone users... the S9 still going strong with original battery.... it holds a charge but not like it once did.

Still debating going iPhone so I can see videos and not screw up family threads.

S25 Ultra

Got it too at pre order. The battery is not as good as i expected. Not sure about 2 day life at all. I came from the S23 Ultra and it's nearly the same battery life and that phone was a full 2 years old. I did do the battery optimization and cleaned the memory and that seemed to help. Next I'm going to clear the cache partition. I've also read people have gotten better battery from switching off the RAM Plus but I want full power haha. I'm hoping it really does learn and improves. Phone is quick and I do like it.

My whole family is on iPhone too and we have a group chat. Videos and pics sent look just as good as they did before. Samsung uses something called "RCS" message now and I haven't noticed any quality degradation in texted media

After two weeks of usage the battery life has definitely improved for me. I think the phone learns your usage patterns and is able to optimize battery life

iPhones use this protocol as well, there should not be any issues with pictures or video from Android users anymore.

If you want to speed that process up you can go into developer settings/standby and change the assignment for each app based on how you think you want to use them.

Lets correct the record here. Apple was the holdout and the root cause of the messaging issues until the iOS 18 update late last year which included RCS. Everyone else worldwide had been using RCS for years prior.
