see i dont think it will work very well with one. Say you put it in one room that is the hottest room in the house. The ac will run and run and run till it freezes out the other parts of the house before it lowers the other temps. Thats why i feel a smart HVAC should be able to directionalize where it pushes air. that wouldnt be an ordinary DIY home automation feature.

how do these pucks attach to the wall? stickem or actually drilling into the sheetrock?

It says in the technical details part that you can use some sort of pre-packaged adhesive or wall drilled mount.

Believe I read in the tech specs that it's 2 AA batteries that last for 1-2 years, or something like that.

Think it also even mentioned that it's 24v plug in capable, or whatever the voltage was.

New one is only $100 cheaper and it doesn't seem nearly as intuitive.

Basically, I need something my wife can use without me explaining it 100 times and her technology IQ is slightly above a trained chimp.

looks like the pucks take AAA batteries and the vents take C.

yea just cause it iahve fancy Wifi they you cant even see, the design of a thermostat hasnt changed a bit.
