Moved firestick to new house location and can’t get the damn remote to start up firestick.

Have tried the home button and several other reset options to no success. Have unplugged and powered up 7-8 times.

Any other suggestions? Batteries are good as well

Try your phone app and see if it's the remote or the stick

1. Hold down the Select button for 5 seconds to put the remote into pair mode.

2. Hold down the Select + Play buttons together for 5 seconds to Restart the device.

3. Restart the device: Settings > System > Restart, then once restarted unplug the power cable for 5 seconds then plug back in.

You might could actually skip step 3 if everything is working again.

I have a friend who put the batteries in facing the wrong way.

When he finally found the problem I told him to never do that again.

Try installing ew batteries in the remote. Even if you think it can’t be the batteries try it. It worked for me

I had a similar issue start all of a sudden where my home button and back button wouldnt work. The following seems to be a best practice for resetting firetv stick remotes:
Fire TV Edition TV Remotes

Unplug your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds.
Press and hold the Left button, Menu button, and Back button at the same time. Hold them for 12 seconds.
Release the buttons and wait 5 seconds.
Remove the batteries from your remote.
Plug in your Fire TV and wait 60 seconds.
Put the batteries back in your remote.
Press the Home button on the remote.
When the LED indicator blinks blue, your remote is paired successfully. If it's not paired, press the Home button for 10 seconds.

Also, the weird reason for why my issue started all of a sudden was because i had the firestick power (usb) plugged into a usb port on tv. It worked initially and never had issues, but i factory reset my stick and then it gave me error about not enough power. So grabbed the usb/ac power adapter and all was working normally after that
