Facebook account lost

I can't log into facebook. First time I noticed it says for me to log in again. I log in using my password and then I get an error saying I used an old password and my password was changed which I didn't do.
I asked to secure my account and they are to send me a link to change my password on the email address that they have on file. I do not get the email. I have tried this multiple times and checked the spa folder to insure that the emails didn't show elsewhere.
Is there something that I can do to recover?

Someone got your password then changed it and changed the email address. You can report it to facebook.

Facebook bots are completely useless. Do new account and turn on MFA.

You should take this opportunity to just move on from Facebook. Take it as a sign from God.

Consider it a blessing and move on. I got off FB 5 years ago and I’ve been so much happier without it.

So I have had no luck with reinstating my account. I guess I will take the route many of you have suggested and leave for good.
