We used to steam it just through our smart tv. Now we can’t. Says we need a subscription.
What the hell? Did this change recently or something??

ESPN+ and SEC+ have always been separate. ESPN+ is for small conferences college sports and the NHL.
SEC+ needs a cable sub with SECsports.
ESPN+ != WatchESPN, which is where you can watch all the ESPN sports on regular tv, like SECsports.

SECN+ is just an online extension of your cable subscription.
ESPN+ is a separate service you have to pay for.

also be aware that the games will show two options when you select one. One stream will require ESPN+ and the other stream option will require SECN+. If you have SECN on your cable package, be sure to select the SECN+ stream and not the ESPN+ stream.

I have to tell people this all the time. They typically have the ESPN+ link first. You have to look for the one that says "Sign in with your TV provider."

Thanks to all .. we were trying to load espn from our cox contour box (yeah I know) but it wouldn’t load.
We were able to from Roku on other tv.
I mix these up. Appreciate the help.
Just still not sure why espn app won’t load .. may need to update our tv or the app per espn help people.

Apples to oranges, but I got a message on direcTV last week saying ESPN was discontinuing the app for DTV. It might also apply to cox as well.

Also, most games are streaming on YouTube, you just have to search for them
