I’ve had Amazon send me a second Echo because the first wouldn’t connect to my WiFi. The new one is doing the exact same thing. Any tips/tricks out there? I don’t have WiFi issues with any other streaming devices, smart devices in my house at all. These Echos don’t even act like they’re close to connecting. I’m baffled. Tia.

And, yes, my password is correct. I’ve literally tried cop, pasting from my router setup page.

You put it in pairing mode (orange light circles around) and then connect to it from alexa app? Are there any weird obstructions for wifi between echo and router?

Yeah. Inside the Alexa app on my phone... My phone recognizes the Echo, no problem. Then it asks me to select my network ID. I do that. It prompts me for WiFi password and that’s where it can never connect. I’m literally a couple feet from my router.

Have you turned any security measures on in your router that could be blocking it like MAC filtering?

Man, certainly not intentionally. I only went and looked at all my network settings after I was having all this trouble.

Still baffled but it’s working. Tried connecting to hot spot on my phone. First try, same faile result. Second try, phone tells me something has connected to the hotspot. I look in the Alexa app and Echo has connected to WiFi, but not the hotspot, to the home WiFi. ???

You might try changing the frequency band on your router. If it’s 2.4 GHz, switch it to 5 GHz. If it’s 5, switch it to 2.4.

Bumping this back to the top for any ideas. The Echo is back in wtf mode after being unplugged. It connects to internet over a hotspot fine, but won’t connect to home WiFi at all. It has to be an issue with the WiFi, huh?

Your router's 5Ghz band is probably set to auto channel. Your Echo cannot connect to the channel your router has selected. Log into your router and set the channel to 36-48 or 149-165.

Now we’re getting somewhere.

ETA: Had high hopes. Change the 5hz channel to 149, saved, retried connecting a few times. No dice.
