I'm looking to buy a drone to help me evaluate real estate. I would like to be able to either set the altitude I want, or be able to see the drone's altitude on my phone or the controller. This way I can see what the views would be from upper floors of potential projects. I don't need to go that high, probably 150' max and less than 50' in most cases.

Are there any consumer grade drones with these capabilities? What would you recommend? I'd like to spend less than $500 if possible.

TIA

Almost all the DJI drones show exact height as the height limit is 400 feet. Check out the DJI lineup

I've also read where DJI controls where you can/can't use your drone based on GPS location. If you're close to an airport you can't operate it. I've read where people are outside the airport exclusion zone and are having issues with DJI drones. I'd love to have a Mavic Pro...but I live too close (but outside the exclusion zone) and I wouldn't like DJI bricking my drone because they think they know the zone.

GPS is very good on them, I fly on Missionary Ridge some and there are a lot of small no fly zones due to National Parks having do not fly restrictions. I also fly with 5 miles of an airport, but I have permission to fly up to a certain range of it from the tower. It's a small airport.

My experience with the Mavic is you have to be on top of the flight restriction zone for it to deny flight or return home.

You will get bored easily of flying at home as well. You will want to go to new places.
