Does Apple Need to Revamp the iPad/Macbook?

In looking at the Surface and its capabilities, I think Apple really needs to update the iPad to run a full OS and not iOS. The limitations with the iPad are crazy for the price that you are paying for the device. And with the last refresh on the Macbook too, the touch bar is really useless and gimmicky, not to mention the dongles. Why not implement touch screen, tablet when you want, laptop when you want like Microsoft did beautifully several years ago?

Speak for yourself. The iPad Pro 10.5 inch is the best device I’ve ever owned. Replaced my MacBook Air.

I know its hard, but try to be objective and not just defend a product that you overpaid for. What makes the iPad Pro the best device you've ever owned specifically? What innovative features does it have that no other device does?

Why do you have to start off by saying that?
I have an Ipad 10.5 pro too, owned almost every version and used the 12.9 quite a bit and the 10.5 with the smart keyboard is perfect.
Only thing I would change right now is loose the button like my X.
BTW, I am a Windows guy for everything else, so no apple homer here.

I have an iPad pro 12.9" with smartconnect keyboard/case
I rarely open my laptop at home anymore. iPad is the perfect consumable technology and has gotten much better with the addition of "files" in iOS11

I have the first gen iPad Air. I'll be buying a new iPad Pro when they lose the button like the X.
Buttons are a pain in the arse after using this phone for the short period I've had it.
