Does anyone still use adaware or similar programs?

Used to use those years ago to protect against malware, trojans, and clean out the cookies.

Yes. Depending on the browser, it may be a different program. DuckDuckgo, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin are all installed.

Malwarebytes is still around and still works fine.

I've got a lifetime subscription to Malwarebytes and swear by it.

Adlbock plus on Firefox and Malwarebytes for whole machine.
