Does a USB 2.0 thumb drive work in a 3.0 port?

I know they are backwards compatible and a 3.0 can be plugged into a 2.0 but would be limited to 2.0 capabilities. But can you plug a 2.0 drive into a 3.0 port??

Yep, also limited to 2.0 specs though.

Only if you add the 1.0 attachment to the 2.0 or subtract the attachment from the 3.0

USB driver -> ps/2 to USB adapter -> serial to ps/2 adapter -> printer port to serial adapter -> what the frick is that white adapter doing?

Looks like a dongle to me, and it's just there to make the chain longer like everything else. That setup doesn't work. There's a USB port between the PS/2 and network.
