i have a standing desk and just use the wireless mouse right on the desktop.

however the silicon 'gliders' get toejam on them regularly. at least once or twice a day i feel like i'm flipping it over and scraping them off.

my desk is clean, i hit it w/ lysol wipe every other day or so, but it doesn't seem to help.

is this just disgusting CAD-juice from my wrist touching the desk? a microfiber seems to wipe the scuz off easier.

is there a better solutoin or some new type of mouse i should buy that doesn't have this issue? i like not having something else on my desk so i doin't really want to go back to using a mousepad; haven't used one in forever.

I wipe it down when its shiny

the logi i use has like a silicon/rubber type band around the bottom that kind of keeps it off the desk itself..I also use a wrist bean bag type thing and honestly, my skin never touches my desk

I use two fabric ones from Glorious. I swap them out when they need it, throw in the washing machine with towels to clean. My mice feet haven't needed to be de-scuzzed in years (Glorious Model O.) My Logitech MX518 didn't fare so well on a hard pad, and had to be de-scuzzed about once a month.

I used to just take the little ball out and scrape the crud off of the little rollers with a paperclip every now and then. Haven't had to do that in years since the invention of the laser mouse, but I do miss how satisfying it was when you cleaned them and the mouse motion was smooth again.

Hooters of all places used to sell really nice mouse pads with strategically placed wrist padding. They were pretty nice to use.
