Do I need a PlayStation to get PlayStation vue?

No. While PS Vue can be viewed on a PlayStation game console, it is not required. PS Vue can be played on a PC, Roku, FireTV, etc. just like all of the other streaming services.

But this is yet another reason why their marketing department should be fired. Sony Vue would be much better.

I purchased a Sony smart tv earlier this year. I see it’s on my menu. I guess I just need to sign up for it. Am I correct with this assumption?

It's a good service. I like it best of all of the streaming services available but that is largely determined by channel selection. Their's fits my viewing. Your mileage may vary.

Not a listener or watcher either, eh? They literally give a list of devices you can use PSVue with in every commercial I've ever seen for it.

Nope.
I would highly, highly recommend an Apple TV4. Have run Vue on it for several years and it’s far superior to Roku’s platform.

I had to upgrade my steaming device and got the Nvidia Shield gaming edition that came with a free Google Home mini.
I'm in love.
Have had PS Vue for a long time. I have no complaints except now that there are 15 ESPNs on my guide it's a pain to scroll through between games. Need to look at shortcuts.
ETA: I agree someone needs to get fired. They are running commercials explaining you don't need a PlayStation which makes me think this is more on the executives for apparently digging in.

They should kill Crackle as a standalone service, make it a Vue channel and use that as an excuse to rebrand it Sony Vue.
