If you turn off true-tone on the x, everything is too blue. If it’s on, then the colors are dull.

I didn't really mind the retina display either. OLED was necessary for the X though with the weird shape screen notch.

We will eventually get burn in gate where everyone makes a big deal with about how apple screen burns in even thought it's been a thing for awhile with oled. I've already seen people talking about it in reference to the X and how it can happen.

Didn't seem like it was that big of a deal though, any tiny issue with iPhones seem to get magnified well beyond reason sometimes.

They're all bad. Just be happy there's competition. Google doing it's own image processing chip for the camera and the iPhone moving to OLED screens is great news for everyone but people that need cheap phones.

All you people do realize that the iphone has a Samsung display right....so no matter what this article says it is essentially the same screen that the note 8 has.

Wrong! That's like saying TSMC processors power high-end Android phones, when in fact they are Qualcomm designed chips (Snapdragon 820, 835 etc.).

Apple designed the iPhone X's screen and did a lot of custom work to work around certain limitations of pentile OLED screens. Samsung just manufactured it.

I was watching WatchESPN on both my 7 Plus and X at the same time and there was no comparison. The blacks on the OLED were beautiful and made my 7 Plus look almost hazy.
