Disgruntled note user here......contemplating the replacement phone

obviously I have the note 7 with all that is going on I have to return it and make another selection. My phone has become a Swiss army knife of sorts to me because of the s-pen and how much i use it to screen write, draw on photos, etc for communication with my employees. Apple makes a good phone Im just not an Apple guy.
Have any of you switched, that use the s-pen daily for work related projects?
If so are you satisfied, i ordered the pixel xl but starting to wonder if going to a note 5 would be the better option?
im not in need of the most cutting edge phone on the market either...

Here is a video that was posted yesterday with the top 5 Note 7 replacements. It may help you with your decision.

I turned my Note 7 in for an S7 Edge. It literally feels like the same phone and performance and specs were almost identical. If you used the shite out of the s-pen, I don't know what to tell you. I don't think it's gonna take forever for a true Note 8 if you will. But for the closest for now, I'd go s7Edge. I've really got no complaints.

i think thats the biggest problem for me is that i use the pen just about everyday.
anybody have the note 5 and how nig of a difference is it from the note 7?

Note 7 user here, ordered an S7 edge, they're giving $100 off any Samsung replacement. I'm not happy it's only $100, should be a lot more than that, and the only reason I'm sticking with Samsung is because of all the free stuff i got in the promos.
I wish i could keep the note, best phone ever. Hopefully Samsung adds to their compensation amount... $100 off for a phone 8 months after it's released? The S8 comes out in 5 months....

Don't have it, but there's no sd slot in the note 5.

Just left my carriers store, the Samsung rep was in there this morning and word is that they are going to release a new phone before the end of the year with a stylus(don't know what they are going to call it). I'm going to hang on to my note 7 till then. Not sure if that's the right move for Samsung but I'm going to wait and see

I do. And I use it every day for my job. I don't think I could function without the s-pen

I have a Note 5, and the stylus is much better than on my Note 3 (I use both: one for work, one for personal).
The 5's screen is a much higher rez that the 3, and the pics it takes are also of much higher quality. Overall, it's a great phone and the battery asts a long time.
The one key feature, for me, missing from the 5 that was in the 3 is there is no IR Blaster. I use the IR and an app that controls my home theater and other items. When I travel, and go to a hotel where the TV looks crappy and they don't give you access to the menu, this lets me do it. But not with the 5.

I'm holding out to get my hands on the LG V20 when it comes out. Can anyone comment on the difference between LG's gui compared to Samsung's? Is it as bloated up as Samsung's is, or closer to stock android?
