This is the deal where you refer a friend and you get a $10 credit on your bill.
AT&T is ruining DirecTV. I'm glad I kicked them to the curb last week. Their goal must be to piss off every customer they have.

I've been selling Direct Tv for nearly a year and not a single one of my sales was brought to me because of a friend.

I got a hundred bucks from them off a stranger on a message board who mentioned they were switching from cable. I said to use my ref number, and we each made $100.
I did the same back when ING Direct had a $25 referral fee for new customers. Anytime someone posted and acted interested in opening an account, I'd send them a link so we both could make money.
Oh, well, looks like I have to go back to work. The gravy train is over.

If anyone wants to switch to Dish Network, I can give you a referral code.

Probably because they're offering cheaper monthly fees that are now locked in for 2 years, overall I'd say the 2 year lock in is better than refer a friend

They've had cheap two year locks for a while. I got it in 2013.

this- i work in that business and my AT&T peeps were saying that only 8% of people used it and they would rather offer a nationwide offer like the one you mentioned to a broader audience.
FYI they are rolling out a brand new rewards program this summer.
The current $25 off for life is a smoking deal. $50 for the life of your contract(2 years) for 4 tvs, DVR and all fees included, 250 channels, Sunday Ticket, all movie channels free for 3 months

That might have been something specific to you to get you to stay/sign on...but it was not a nationwide offer like it is now
