If it wasn't for my wife watching Bravo shite, I'd already be done with it.

I may just drop down to the most basic package. I don't watch many shows religiously but I do like to just check the guide and flip around with it mostly being background noise as I play with my phone. I have become an astros fan since moving here so I would want root sports.

I've closely considered quitting lately and I determined that 140 a month isn't really that much money considering the amount of use/ease of use my family gets out of it

Thankfully I was able to talk to a white when I called, and she was very nice (english was actually her native tongue) and didn't give me any run around trying to talk me out of it.

I had been on the fence for awhile, but the price has just gotten ridiculous. Also, they retarded fees they tack on, $7.00 primary TV fee??? Da fuq is that!?

IMO the #1 reason never to sign up for DTV is how they automatically tack on the sports package shite every fall unless you specifically call and tell them not to. frick them.

honestly, just get an over air antenna. $20 on amazon and you'll probably get upwards of 20-30 channels

I think I have a PS3, an older one, but I know I have 3 Xbox units. Based on your response, I'm assuming all those options are PS3\Sony exclusive?

I would love to drop Directv but I'm worried about missing out on some college football and NFL games.

I have NFL ticket to watch the Saints because I now live out of state. Will I still be able to catch every Saints game, SEC network, FS1, and all of the ESPN channels without directv?

all you need is a friend/family member with ESPN and you can use their log in for watch ESPN. Also, with XBMC you have access to every live sports event. With the over air antenna you'll get all major networks in full HD totally free.

it's a no brainer unless you like setting money on fire

Anyone pay their way out of their Directv contract? I want to cancel, but I'm not up until November. Trying to calculate if it's worth getting out of it before then.

i'm about to. my contract is up in august and it's $20 per remaining month. i just ordered my antenna so if i get the OTA channels i want, i'm making the call to cancel. the new system i'm putting in will break even in 6 months from DTV savings.

It's only $20 a month? I thought it was so much more than that. I'd make up that difference in no time.

What antenna did you get?

I have a problem with this. I simply can't bring myself to ask if it's OK that I freeload.

pay them something. I'm sure they'd love to let you use it for $50 a year. win/win
