I went to the AT&T store on Friday and signed up. If nothing else, it's a good way to get an Apple TV at a discount. So far, so good regarding the DirecTV Now streaming. Watched some football on it Friday night, streamed some yesterday morning and again today. I'm hopeful that over the next 3 months, login options on standalone apps for Nick Jr and NBC Sports Network will add DirecTV Now to their list of providers. If so, this may be the end of cable for me. $35/month for this channel lineup is a great bargain. I can just use an antenna or sign up for Hulu to get the broadcast network shows I want to see. No DVR does worry me slightly.

Has anyone added HBO on their DirecTV Now for $5/mo? Is it just the main HBO channel as I'm suspecting it is? Do login credentials work on HBO Go?

Wanted to mention a couple people on reddit said even though they did not get an email their Fedex account says they have a shipment on the way for Directv for Wednesday delivery.

It's the main hbo, hbo family, and hbo Latino or whatever. Credentials work, but with a caveat. I can log in on fire tv and computer, but Apple TV doesn't want to work because of some bug with the authentication code.

Same here. I may get 1-2 errors a day but the feed is incredible.

So there's a live feed of HBO plus access to HBO GO/Now like Vue? But for only $5? That's awesome.

Yep

Solid deal. No reason to sign up for HBO Now for $15

Haven't had the time this weekend I thought I would to play around with it but from what I've seen so far has been great. Only had one error but the pic appeared before I could grab the remote.

I'm guessing the folks having issues are using fire devices?

I've got two fire tvs and an Apple TV
Seeing buffer issues on both... 1 Gb fiber internet

Not bad though

ETA it's actually worse on my Apple TV but I think that's because it's in my living room and I watch it during peak hours.

Is the $5 HBO add a promotional price as well?

Where's the On Demand stuff when going through Apple TV?

I find it odd that TWD has played better than anything else I've tried to watch. It has been flawless, while everything else I watched today has buffered atleast once.

Was curious myself and its been perfect. I've flipped around during the commercials just to see if there was and buffering or errors and so far everything's been flawless.

Yeah I'm very close to all towers. A basic indoor antenna should hopefully do it for me.

FYI The Mohu Leaf mounted to wall behind TV (out of sight) about 6.5 ft off the ground got me all of the locals we were talking about...KATC, KLFY, KLAF, and KADN

Also got a few more....like about 2-3 LPBs, ION TV, and a couple more that I can't recall off the top of my head....16 HD channels in all if I recall correctly.

Well I'm sure you could split it....I'm not an antenna guru by any stretch of the term....that said I wonder how much degradation of the signal you would get on the splits, common sense tells you there will be some for sure I just don't know if it is enough to worry about.
