Anyone else notice a huge decline in AT&T cell service in downtown Baton Rouge? In the past month I've gone from being able to stream netflix at the office to having Pandora buffer every 15 seconds. 4 others in the office have the same complaint. Calls to AT&T have done nothing to fix the problems.

1) If you are using LTE Data, what is your data cap?

2) Using Netflix a lot on LTE Data tends to send people over their caps.

3) ATT is notorious for LTE data throttling, esp on app-related services such at Netflix.

4) Why doesn't your place of business have Wi-Fi?

I have an unlimited plan and am below the 22GB throttling line.

It's not just Netflix. Tigerdroppings even takes forever to load. A speed test shows I am getting 0.2 Mbps down and 1Mbps up.

I've been trying to talk the boss into it for years now, he just won't cave.

good for him

1) its asking for trouble from a security standpoint
2) its eating your work data/pipeline

Seriously, if a bunch of you are having the issue, the issue is the answer...Too many of you are streaming through that ever tightening pipe

Considering we have trouble even getting a picture on facebook to load it seems to be a problem further up the pipeline. We aren't all trying to stream at once. We are just simply trying to get pages to load.

sure..Its also cloudy out ..sunny out...flares...buildings..Too many things lead to basic issues..Odds are something on a tower went out and until it actually affects something negatively, its on a laundry list of fixes needed

1900/2100 Wont have issues with any of those things.

I am willing to bet the backhaul is either fricked or RFMOD went out.

Didn't BR just have a horrible storm this week?

not if I find out where it is......

ETA: seriously though, we're seeing a decline in public and employee only wifi..there are too many possible restrictions coming and its easier to just not offer it even just for in house

I honestly can't tell you are encryption method for our employee Wifi (We 3rd partied it out)

But its fairly new and relaunched.

To be very fair though, I do most of my browsing behind a few firewalls and only listen to music off the company WiFi (when I can).

edit: I 100% believe you in what you are saying though. I do see it in other smaller companies than mine. Not worth the headache for sure.

OP another thing to consider: A neighboring eNB (Tower) could have gone down and now the MME is trying to load balance all the calls hitting your tower now.

Yes. I work downtown and it has been very difficult to make and/or receive phone calls. Both of my phones are with AT&T and have issues. One iPhone 8 and a Samsung. It frequently takes 4 attempts to make a phone call

Myself and a few others in my office have noticed a discernable drop-off of AT&T coverage the last few days. Lots of failed calls, etc. I don't know what's going on but it sucks arse.
