AT&T making me mad now. I saw a tech at my neighbor's house last night and asked him what issues they were having and found out it's the same as mine. I called a couple of friends in the hood and they have the same problem. My wife called some other friends and same issue.
I called the tech that worked on my house and he reached out to some department and they said speeds measuring fine and there are no issues. Not sure how I can escalate this since I counted 11 people that I know of with issues on 5 streets

AT&T Investor Relations - Customer Service
Try this. A few years ago I had an unlocked phone get locked to AT&T in error when I was no longer a customer of theirs. Everyone from AT&T I spoke to agreed the phone should not be locked but every unlock request I made came back from the unlock team as denied (and there is no way to speak with anyone on that team directly). No one I could speak to could help me and I went weeks without a cell phone until the AT&T store rep gave me a free prepaid SIM just so that I could continue calling AT&T Customer Service just to attempt to get it resolved. Finally, in the end, it was Investor Relations that was able to do something for me. A few days after submitting this form I got a call from a woman on their executive team and she was able to go into their system and fix the glitch.

I bugged enough people this morning and they rebooted the main line and it resolved the issues

Making the switch myself, i started getting data overage charges after being in my new house for a year. didn't start until the new year and cox can't tell you what apps or downloads are committing these overages.
Turned off all automatic updates for anything in the house at the end of May.
9 days into every month i'm already hitting 50% of my data usage plan.
Cox's gigablast is a goddamn scam. gigabit internet with data limits is not a matter of if but when. $100 more each time you go over with a one time forgiveness.
My household only has two individuals.
ATT also lets you use your own hardware now and will buyout your contract if you have one. Easy choice.

att has always let you use your own hardware. The issue some folks have is that you can't get around using the at&t gateway. You have to keep it in service and then connect your equipment to it. It adds a step to the routing and also adds about 1ms to the connection latency.

This shouldn't be that much data. Do you have people streaming at your house? If not, someone may be using your wireless.

No, i'm very much right. They updated the website weeks ago. No new customers can get HBO max included.
here is the official at&t page indicating it was dropped on 6/5/22

If you have it, you get to keep it for now. They wont keep it for existing customers forever but as long as you dont make any changes to your internet account, you get to keep it for the time being.

Update, I returned the ATT router because it was absolute garbage. I couldn't use my tools on Linux for work because of the default TCP/IP configurations for the wireless controller on their device.
Also when I plugged their device into my switch, I lost 25% of the total throughput. Sent that device back via the UPS Store.

Ip passthrough would not work for you?

Not opposed to switching from Cox to ATT down the road. But as some have hinted here, I’m gonna wait at least one year to see how it holds up.

It doesn't matter if you have 50mb, 100mb, 500mb, or 1gb. If you use the bandwidth you use the badwidth.
Bandwidth limits are inherently bullshite but having 1gb internet doesn't make you use more data. Using data makes you use more data.

No it worked, the router they issued pre-managed too many tcp/ip functions. Limited all ssh ability and only allowed one ssh connection per IP. it also took 25% of the connection they sold me when plugged into my router.

Interesting. I run a BGW320 in "ip passthrough" mode and dont have any of those issues.

Tmobile 5G Home Internet looking better and better. I just lost my promotional ATT Internet rates and now they wanna jack up the price on me. I've tried negotiating 6x with 6 different reps. No luck.
