It's not really a waste of resources though. It's a negligible waste at best.
Paying data cap fees is like having to pay extra to have ice in your drink.. despite the ice displacing the actual product you are drinking. It's nonsensical and tbh should be illegal.

Why don't they comment on video game usage?
I got blasted on the Tech board for wrongly assuming online gaming consumed a lot of data.
However, some game downloads are huge.

Congrats. This doesn't affect you, yet.

slow, please explain to me how i can change that?
How can I control how much data Netflix uses?

Access the Your Account page from a web browser and select Playback Settings.
Select your desired data usage setting (please note that each estimate below is per stream, and that restricting data usage may affect video quality):
Low (0.3 GB per hour)
Medium (SD: 0.7 GB per hour)
High (Best video quality, up to 3 GB per hour for HD and 7 GB per hour for Ultra HD)
Auto (Adjusts automatically to deliver the highest possible quality, based on your current Internet connection speed)
Select Save
Note: It may take up to 8 hours for these changes to take effect.

you're going to have a hard time convincing me that we need to expand government

thanks for showing me how i can get a crappier picture on my TV.
i'm sure i won't forget to go in and change it EVERY frickING TIME i want to watch something instead of the kids.
dont be obtuse, slow.
Posted on 6/27/17 at 2:53 pm to CAD703X
Yeah didn't think about kids. Wasn't arguing in favor of Cox just curious. I think it's crap that they are capping data. There is no reason for it other than to make more money from the consumer. When I got rid of cable my bill went down $130/month. Insane to think I was paying that much for TV when I can get HULU live TV for $40/month and has all of the same channels that people actually watch.

ANYONE who defends comcast is incredibly short-sighted.
maybe its not affecting you...yet.
but you'll get a 4K tv eventually..or hell maybe even an 8K (they're out, you know?)
data consumption will only increase..where the 1TB HARD-LIMIT will not.
we are all going to be fricked by this..and much sooner than you realize.

I like how everyone's grand cord cutting plan involves using the password and login of someone else

Gonna have to see about getting a new internet provider now.

do your kids really need 4k streaming of their shows?
their eyes likely aren't even developed enough to tell the difference (hell most adult eyes can't even do that)

i mean, i can't think of that many options that are even worth 4k
humans overrate the "best available" and HD entertainment is one of the biggest i can think of. you're acting like 1080 is some terrible option

People who stream instead of paying for cable use...streaming instead of cable. I don't know how this is so hard to understand.
I just checked my data usage and you're right. Disregard my post. My wife and I just moved to NOLA and decided to cut the cord, and after 3 days, we are already through 100 GB.
Oh...my...frick.

i love how shitty comcast service is so i can only watch tv on the one box hard-wired to the cable box and i have to work-around them to stream shows anywhere else in my house.
Posted on 6/27/17 at 2:56 pm to SlapahoeTribe
Let me know where I can get it on this business as well.

Don't forget to wait 8 hours after you change it as well.
