So my son bought this RIDICULOUS car. You can barely even tell its a Lexus anymore with all the mods done.
anyway, he wants a sub and its already got an amp but i think a couple of the speakers may be blown.
any good speaker recommendations or should he just get pioneer or whatever? i dont know if there are any "you have to have" auto speakers these days.
Same question for the sub. any recs? he doesn't need a sub that will unscrew the license plate.
Finally, here's his motor. WTF am i even looking at? i see what looks like a K&N and some weird routing so the oil filter can be reached but WTF is going on here?
is this the rice?

Memphis Audio for the subs. It's a brand FYI. Although I honestly didn't think anyone still put systems in their cars these days.
Make sure he loosens the screws on his license plate a bit so I don't have to listen to that shite

At least it doesn't have a single turbo to put him into a tree

i made him agree that if i drove him to pick up the car (it was 300 miles away) he was never allowed to install one.

I did. Not the big ear-bleeding bass that I had when I was 16, but I put in new door speakers and a 10" sub in my SUV to get rid of the sorry stock shite this year. Sounds great in the car, but you can't hear me from a mile away anymore

I recently put in a system in my truck. Polk mm6501 components, polk DB sub and a 4 channel amp. Sounds amazing

All US spec IS300s come with a 2jz-ge. The legendary turbo version that comes in ceratin supras are 2jz-gte.
From the looks of it, it has an aftermarket intake, oil filter relocation kit, aluminum radiator and some aftermarket radiator fan. You can find more info on clublexus.com. They probably have an audio section if he wants to read up before throwing his money away.

Do those bolt on fender flares make it faster?

there are 36" wide tires in the back and i think 32" in the front so it helps them not stick out as much.

I took you for someone more technical than this.

I'm really not into cars.
Eta I literally used a tape measure to assure myself I wasn't imagining that the back tires were fatter then the front ones.

I'm not doubting that at all. 3' wide, or tall for that matter, is unbelievable.

There are probably 10.5" wide wheels, so edge to edge is probably 11.5" max. The tires are probably for 8" wide wheels but kids these days like to stretch rubbers. Lol

LMAO. I clearly am remembering the size wrong. I will remeasure and reply when I get home. That's way off.

Maybe you meant cm?
Even these aren't close to 36"
