Ok youngins.. Help a boomer out please.
For some reason I can always connect something the first time. But if the contact is ever dropped, I can never reconnect again. Or if I try to have a difference divice connect after the first time it fails too.\
What is this boomer doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Sometimes it's as simple as having too many bluetooth transmitters nearby.

Sometimes you need to delete the saved bluetooth device from your phone and then try to set it up again. It works most of the time.

Bluetooth generally operates in a Master/Slave format. Your phone being the Master, the speaker/car radio being the Slave.
The master can support multiple connections but the slave connection generally cant. For most bluetooth devices, make sure there is not a device already connected. You can disconnect (on most devices) by pressing or holding the bluetooth logo or pairing button on the speaker.
It would be helpful to know what the brand of each device you are using is.

The simplest first step is to turn your phone's bluetooth off for a couple secs and then turn it back on. Reconnect to the device, or let the new phone connect. I have a bluetooth speaker that won't accept connections from other phones until the previously connected phone is disconnected. That's the easiest way to disconnect from that speaker, in my experience.

Sometimes when I have something that won’t connect I turn the Bluetooth off and then back on. It seems to work for me
