Best Way To Stop All The Unsolicited Spam Phone Calls

This was never really an issue until the last few months but now it seems like 2-3x a day my cell phone is getting a call about consolidating my student debt(that i dont have), getting me and my family a free vacation, or consolidating some other debts(that I dont have). I always block the number after the call but I still get calls from other numbers, its like it wont end and its always a computer and Ive gone through them before which leads me to different people who are always rude and hang up on me when I ask to be removed from their database.....obviously ppl who probably hate their jobs and life, but regardless Id like to see if there's a way to stop this. I put myself on the national do not call list years ago but I imagine thats pretty useless.
So I ask wtf can a person do? I know simply do not answer, the problem is they always call somehow from a random houston zip code phone number and being a business owner I dont wanna not answer a customer/vendor/etc so I have to take the calls its just annoying bc if it was a 1-800 number Id ignore it but I cant. You also cant call these numbers back its just a trainwreck.

I have Caller ID on my cell. If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer it.

I don't have a full time person in our office so I forward all of the calls to my cell. I use an app on my phone called root call blocker pro. I'm in the same boat, need to have potential business get through. Once I answer the call if it's a spam number I just hang up and add it to the blacklist. The app then kills any incoming call from on the list at the system level: no ringing, no voicemail, nothing.
In 5-6 years I've built up a list of over 600 numbers.

Assuming you've got a landline or VOIP with caller ID, best solution I've found so far is this $99 call blocker from Amazon.
It works well with our DECT cordless handsets, and you can press '#2' to immediately end a call and block the number.
Best of all, if the Spammer is a live caller (like "VJ from Windows support") you can say, "please hold on while I find my credit card...". press #2 to block the number, and feel joy that the Spammer could be making several frustrating attempts to call you back.

The do not call list doesn't work at all. Just ended up unplugging my home phone because of constant calls. I'd come home to 20 missed calls and 10 messages every day.
I don't get unsolicited calls on Verizon.

I just looked up that app couldnt find it on my iphone, the first one that came up is sync.me i didnt even think to look for an app, i just downloaded it, Ill let ya know how it works. Its just so annoying bc these guys spam you with local area codes now so you cant just ignore the calls being that they could be anyone from friends, family, clients, doctors, lawyers whoever it just synced and checked out my contacts but now i worry what if its an important call and it just alerts me that its spam. Or I guess how do these systems know spam vs just a local number calling?

I gave up on telling them I wasn't interested and asking to be removed from the list. I started jerking them around and pretending to fall for the scam (note that if they spoof the caller ID, or if they cold call a mobile phone, they are NOT legit).
I always fake a foreign accent. Since it's a cell phone and there's a language barrier, sometimes they have to repeat themselves, and even if I can hear them perfectly I need things explained to me in greater detail. I also use pun names like Ben Dover, make up phony addresses that would be in the Gulf of Mexico or the middle of the Mississippi River, and give them Rickroll phone numbers as alternate numbers to call me.
It's fun, it's a good way to get revenge, and it runs interference to keep them away from potential victims. Best of all, I'm receiving very few calls lately. The scammers must know they're wasting their time if they call me.

Ask them that you need assistance in cleaning large amounts of blood that usually throws them off

iOS 10 and Android Nougat have spam call blocking built in.

I've been getting these same calls too. So frustrating.
