I own the Motorola 8600 and it’s really good. It is paired with a T-P Link router. A great team.

I know you’re looking at the latest offerings, but I’ve had good experiences with the surfboards in general. I currently still use a sb6183 docsis 3.0 that I’ve had for many years and previously had a sb6141 that I used for years as well.

There isn't much practical difference in the 8200 and 8600, just get the one that has the ports you need.

I somehow have an extra ARRIS SURFboard SB8200-RB DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem. Add a basic switch and you're good to go.

Gotcha, I only read your OP and saw the edit about number of ports.

I've been using the SB8200 for a little over 2 years now, one of the ethernet port just crapped out on me.

What did you use the other ethernet ports for? There's no onboard router, is there?

Didn't use the other port until it crapped out. Onboard router? I have no clue. I guess I could have wired both my wireless router into the modem.
