Any recommendations for an OCR app that can handle REALLY REALLY bad handwriting to convert to editable text format?

Im in meeting after meeting where I have to write notes down quickly. Something that can handle learning my scribble handwriting with time would be great.

I've been trying to research this for a bit, but just haven't come across something that makes me feel like it'll get the job done. I don't mind paying for the app either if it'll do what I need well.

Thanks.

You can't just turn on the mic on your laptop and record the meeting instead?

I try to avoid carrying my laptop to meetings. It gets tiresome carrying it to multiple floors, and I tend to get distracted by emails.
Also, I dont have time to go back to listen to a recording to grab key notes, and action items.

I write so slow I can't possibly imagine a scenario where I wouldn't record the meeting or take notes on my laptop.

I would be hopelessly lost if I tried to keep up in a meeting with a pen and paper.

Yeah i'm old school I guess. Plenty of younger folks sitting there tapping away. That craze in schools was just after me. I also lead calls/meetings that I cant be typing away.

I hit key topics writing down, and draw out workflows that I would prefer being able to ocr pic it to organize/edit the text format instead of trying to type them out.

Android & crappy handwriting OCR sounds like a tough market

Why don't you try a different angle with a smartpen or Livescribe

You can scan the notes and let a program analyze from there, then you can just clean it up.

I think the most important aspects are a very sensitive touchscreen and a good stylus (plus good penmanship).

Get a voice recorder. They are the size of a pen

Thats not the issue a much as trying to convert notes I did take to text format. Im not going to shuffle thru what can be hrs of a recording.

Im not looking for easier alternatives, but looking for a an app that can handle the need.

Record it and then use a voice to text app or google voice to text, play the recording and let it write it out in text. Google has a paid "cloud" application that can do it also.
