I have ThinkWare dashcams in my trucks, X500 and F800 models. The X500 is under $200 now I think, been pretty reliable but you really have to use their microXD cards and it's possible to corrupt the operating program and cause temporary issues when taking the card out to extract video. The F800 wireless transfer is much better and the camera does a much better job handling night-time lighting. Whatever you choose, make sure it has built-in GPS and rear video camera.

I have had a ROAV (Amazon special) I think I paid like $89 for last year and have been pleased. Used it for a couple things already.

Could have used one day before yesterday when the idiot on a 2 lane country highway decided it was a good time to pass the cars headed towards me @ 60 mph+.
Missed by about 5 feet a head on collision. Me slipping and sliding in the mud on the my side of the road and then back onto the highway would have made an entertaining short video.

I have had this one over a year. It's always on unless my battery get's low. It's got a nice picture imo but still not so large a resolution that it takes forever. LINK
