Not a whole lot to update.
Making a call today to see what I will finally do. That being said, Best Buy has dropped the 900f another $100 to $1099 (from $1299, although I think it was $1499 at first) vs the Q8F at $1499 (from $1899 original).
I still think the Q8F may be the better all around tv by a slim margin, but is it $400 better? Guess that’s what I need to figure out...

65” Q6 or 55” Q8? Both will be around $1100-$1200.

I have a perksatwork discount so it’s $1299 for the 55” Q8FN and $1199 for the Q6FN.

The AVS Thread is very long and involves calibration in addition to settings. If you use the first link I think you'll find that the banding in dark scenes disappears.
