Does anyone know of an app or anything that can block calls? These bull shite telemarketers are crushing me lately. At least 15 calls daily. My call block list has over 100 numbers in it, but they still are getting to me.

I'm using the free version of Hiya. Not perfect, but it helps. You can set it to either block, or alert you of a spam caller with a tag next to the number on the caller id.

I use TrueCaller app. It uses a database of prior spammed numbers reported by others. You can also add numbers to your own spam/block list. It will alert you of a spam number if its in the database when it rings. I believe it will also block/kill a call that's on your own spam list but I've only had it happen once so I can't confirm this on a larger scale. Overall, I've found it useful however with all these similar number spoofs, its hard to catch them all.

My VoIP provider has the perfect solution. Any caller not in your phone book is challenged to enter a random digit from 1 to 9 to connect to your party. Robo dialers can't do this so your phone never rings and they get the phone company's "number disconnected" message. I haven't had a spam call on my home phone in years.

Spam calls haven't really been a problem on my cell phone, probably because I'm very stingy about giving out the number.

Is it the car extended warranty crap? I get a call from them every day and I have tried removing myself from their list. I block every number they call from. It’s tiresome at this point.

Change your phone number to an area code with a very low population rate.

Is it possible to only allow calls from certain area codes? I don’t get many local spam calls. Always from California.

But the information I provided above works.

If I don't know the number or name, I no longer answer. If it's someone, like a doctor's office for example, they'll leave a message. If it's a BS call, then they don't and I don't worry about it.
