Promotional rate of 49.99 is expiring after two years. New rate is 69.99. Anyone have success with Spectrum giving a lower rate?

Yep, had fiber installed in my neighborhood and called them saying I was canceling and switching to the fiber company. They gave me cut from $80 to $50 and a speed upgrade. The key is to get on with the retention dept, you have to select the phone options to cancel service and they will connect you with retention instead of regular customer service.

It doesn’t get any better. They charge me $84.99 now. It’s gone up three times since 2020.

I just got mine lowered from 84.99 to 54.99 for internet. And they increased the speed.

I have had the best luck calling and saying I'd like my service turned off next week. Find a competitor in your market and say you are going with them.

If they don't budge just confirm the cancellation date and they will call back a day or two before.

I’ve heard if you try and cancel they’ll reduce it $70 a month or something but you have to be on hold for like 2-3hrs. I’m calling next week and canceling, done with them.

It took me about 5 -10 minutes total. The trick is to go straight to the retention dept and bypass regular customer service. Just say “cancel” to the IVR and it should route you down that path.

Call and get a hold of someone in their retention department. Tell them you’d like to cancel your service because your bill just went up, and you’re going with another provider. I imagine they’ll give you a deal, and if that person won’t just call back and get in touch with another person. I don’t have spectrum, but I just did this with optimum.
