Doesn't the Nest system have a floodlight that does that?

yup. Works very well. You install the camera and define the coverage zone.

If you're looking for something cheap check this out:

Harbor Freight

Good range and does the job.

not very helpful if you don't get video of the perps when it comes time to go to court.

I have cameras. I just want a heads up when people drive or walk up the driveway.

the harbor-freight special doesn't allow you to set the zone so you'll have to 'eyeball' it by having people walk around to get it dialed into just your driveway.

my drievway goes downhill and if i didnt map out the street at the bottom i would get alerts constantly with traffic passing by.

I have the harbor freight special and a separate camera system. The only reason I got it was to get an alert in the middle of the night when someone was pulling car door handles. I turned off the notification system the cameras have because it was so sensitive. Now the only issue i have is this bastard cat that walks my porch around 1 AM every night.

If you have cameras you just set the sensitivity high and when someone walks or drives remotely close to your driveway, it starts recording and alerts you.

We have the Arlo set. It’s awesome.

I have a Guardline at my house. It comes with a protective plate to tighten up the FOV, or you can take it off and have it larger. Works very well, and I'd buy another one if it broke

I have been hit by car door checkers twice so I am fighting back LOL. Have not soaked anyone yet...

The Dakota has one relay output for each of the four channels that you can use with the receiver. Each is form "C" relay and each is rated or a 24 VDC at 3 Amp max. current. I have two z-wave+ EcoLink DWZWAVE2.5-ECO door sensors attached to the Dakota this way to receive alerts of motion detection when away from the house. The Dakota also has a mobile receiver you can carry with you around the house/yard.

Yep. Last night made twice in last 3 weeks in Mandeville that someone has walked up my driveway and checked the doors on a car. Both times in the rain.

Caught a picture of the kids on Ring the first time. Last night I did not. Thankfully I always check my car doors before I go to bed.

Either going to add more to the Ring or Nest ecosystem or jump into Arlo.

I picked up the Harbor Freight cheapo today for $10 with a coupon the lady gave me in store. I'll try it out to see if its worth a crap.

I'm probably just delaying buying the $100 version

We lock ours now for sure. They don't care about lights or cameras. I don't know about the sprinkler yet but I will make it uncomfortable for them to be in my yard if I can. I imagine a strong blast of water might be somewhat different from rain; we shall see if they return.
