I'm looking for a cheap 55" tv for my office. I see Amazon is making TVs. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Not a huge fan of Fire TVs. Get one with Roku or Android TV instead.

I got one for a spare room because it was super cheap and it would hardly ever be used.

The few times I've needed it, it's been enough of a pain in the arse that I wouldn't recommend it. Slow to turn on, lag in accessing menu options. God help you if your wifi is being flaky, it will try for what feels like forever to access Amazon's servers before eventually giving up and just letting you into the TV to be able to do local stuff.

Parents needed a TV for a bedroom and we got them an inexpensive Roku TV and they love it. I probably should have done that, but I was trying to spend as little as possible to fix a problem. I got what I paid for I guess.

I have a FireTV in our bedroom and its decent, but I much prefer the TCL Roku TVs. Only reason I bought the FireTV was I needed a cheap replacement for a Vizio that bit the dust and my wife found it for $50 on the neighborhood facebook page. The cheap TCL that my daughters use in their gameroom (to me) is MUCH nicer and way easier to use.

I like the Hisense android TV's if we are keeping score but the TCL TV's are good too, especially for the money.

We had a couple fire tv's for the kids, they are not all equal. We had one that was made by toshiba and it was great, we had one with the insignia name brand and it was a turd.

We have 2 of the 55" 4K FireTVs. Got them during Primeday for a good price. They seem to do pretty well. Nothing super special, 95% of the viewing is streaming movies from media server with the balance Prime video.

The one I have is Insignia brand so I'd second this.

Thanks for the help. Amazon recently came out with their own brand of TV. Im familiar with the operating system as I have numerous Fire Sticks. I’m curious about the actual Amazon TV itself.

Based on what I have seen so far, it appears that the consensus is the are adequate for the price point but not really very good.

I have no direct experience.

Loved my TCL 55" Roku for 2 years until the backlight went out. Seemed to be an issue online with other owners. Not sure if they will still have that problem in the future. I'm in the market for another bedroom tv.
