I think your problem is you have a Roku.

As opposed to what?

I have apple TV at other place but haven't used it much.
I have the roku 1 and it's fine for the $39 I spent but for this logging out thing.
I was thinking of sticking this one in a bedroom and upgrading. I'm sure there are 100 threads debating the best out of roku, apple TV, Chromecast, and Amazon Fire TV.
Is there a consensus?

I own all the devices, except for the Fire TV, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses.
If you currently have devices with the Apple operating system (iPhone, iPad, iMac, etc), Appletv is the way you should go.
I enjoy the Roku, but I mainly use it with the Plex app and the Plex server I created to serve as my media server. The Netflix channel on Roku is pure garbage compared to the Netflix app on AppleTv, but that is just my opinion.
Another thing to keep an eye on is the future use of the AppleTv as a Homekit hub to implement home automation, if that is something you are interested in:

Otherwise, there's not much difference in the 2, and when you factor in price, Roku is the better value.
As for the OP, I use the Amazon app daily on 2 Rokus for my kids, and I haven't ever seen that issue, so sorry I can't help more.
Good luck!

Did apple TV ever get the amazon video app?

Is your credit card up to date that you used to register the Roku?

yeah it is. and it's weird because everything else stays logged in. i'll check the card again though. thanks.
but you'd think monthly services like NLFX and HULU would log out before annual ones like Prime. very odd. tried resetting the box twice also. i'll unplug it. log in. watch amazon show. and then next time i got to amazon it makes me do the stupid login process again. it's done it only twice so maybe just an Obama style glitch.

Contact roku about it. I had an issue with my old one disconnecting from my wifi and I had to unplug it and plug it back in within about 10 seconds and that seemed to fix it. All of my log ins stayed there unless I waited too long to plug it back in. Then I'd have to reset it and log back in to everything. They eventually sent me a new one after the second customer service request.

I guess to each, their own, but I don't use my AppleTV's Netflix channel because I think it is so poor compared to the Roku one.

Fwiw, there is a different Netflix app on the roku 1&2's versus the roku 3's. The one on the 3's is a much different/ updated version but takes some getting used to
That being said, which roku device do you use?
