Amazon echo/dot thread

I have an echo in my kitchen, and a dot in each of my 4 bedrooms. They are "registered" under me and all named for the person who's room they are in.
How do I make it to where I can use as an intercom and speak to each kid from my bedroom dot to there's?
What other things are available family features?
Also, my wife is the second registered adult and has the app on her phone. Is there a way for the kids to have an app an use things like his own music app? (Step son), so he has his own music with his dad

Amazon Alexxa Skills Home Page
LINK
Enable the Drop In feature for intercom functionality.
To add unique users to your Prime account, log in and set up Amazon Household.
Or next time accomplish all of this by-literally-googling twice and spending about 90 seconds our of your busy day.

Thanks, and all that is set...but I can't figure how to make it an intercom using a command.

Click on the message symbol bottom middle of Alexa app. Wait a minute and drop in will appear in blue on your phone at top of app. Select drop in and choose the device.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone else have issues with their Echo not responding? I must have to unplug and plug it back in every other day.

Ok, let me explain, I have a son named Jacob. So in my app, I named that dot "Jacob"
So I say Alexa, drop in on Jacob. She says she can't find a "contact by the name Jacob. Please check your contacts in the Alexa app"
Why is she going to contacts?
Background: had the Echo and 1 echo dot.
Bought 3 more dots off Amazon and when the arrived, I opened the app and they were labeled Saint's echo 3, 4, and 5
I went to each and named the device name as each kids name (of the room they were in) They are all live and connected to wifi.

No. You need to say:
Alexa drop in on Jacobs dot

I've tried everything....she searches in my contacts. It's frustrating as hell
I'm not home now, but do I say Alexa drop in...and wait for her to ask who?

You need to first make sure you have the drop-in feature turned on for each dot you want to use it on.
Open Amazon Alexa app -> settings -> select the dot -> general -> drop in -> ON
You'll need to do that for each dot.

Ok that's weird. It should be super easy.
Try changing the name of one from just your son to NAMEs dot.
I wonder if it's thinking your son's name is a keyword because you're using his name in another skill.
I had that problem because both my Sonos speakers and hue lights were named DEN. I had to change the name of one of those because I couldn't trigger either.
