My DirecTV service is currently blocking the ABC broadcast in my area (Nexstar).
What are my options for watching the game live (free Hulu trial? ESPN+?)
Thanks for assistance!

Do you have an antenna and tv with digital tuner and live within distance of an ABC broadcast tower?

Live in Houma/Thibodaux area. Concerns about effectiveness of OTA antenna.

You’ve got plenty of time to test an antenna. Stop in a store tomorrow and buy one. They aren’t that expensive. Hook it up and figure out the best orientation.

True. I'm on the border of decent reception for one local network. Moving the antenna an inch can make the difference between zero signal and good reception. You really have to play around with it if you are on the outer limit of the signal.

My neighbor paid more for a more substantial antenna that is on a small stand, and it seems to work better than the cheaper flat piece that I have.

If you buy an antenna, this link can help.
I have an antenna in the attic of a single story house.
Mounted the antenna on a piece of plywood and used a compass to ballpark the best reception from roughly averaging the compass bearings and from there it took about 10 minutes to get the most acceptable reception. Just rotate the plywood as needed.
Key in ZIP to locate transmitters.

I have ESPN+ and can watch all the ABC stuff. You might even be able to watch it on the ESPN app without an ESPN+ subscription but it will be on ESPN+ for sure.

Also, If you forget to buy an antenna put a paper clip in your coax port on TV and point upwards and you will catch most of the over the air channels. I have 2 tvs in my house like this.

I don’t mean to be contrarian or disagree (and a simple coax cord can have this same effect if you don’t have a paper clip lying around but have a box of old cables), but Houma/Thib is pretty in the sticks in terms of distance from broadcast towers, and from the antennaweb search I did (it’s a big area, so not necessarily accurate), he’s on the fringe of being able to catch them with a well-positioned violet antenna. In a major city or right outside of it, this is certainly great advice though!
