Looking for real world experiences. Just learned of it today and amazing I had never thought of that.

I have no experience with that, but I will say my wife's hearing aids are bluetooth compatible and she uses them just like you would airpods. She can use her phone to customize the sound settings of the hearing aids as well.
Obviously a much more expensive solution but depending on the hearing loss of the individual maybe worth it

I have Bluetooth hearing aids that are paired with my phone. Wish the tv and desktop and laptop would connect too.
It’s really nice having the phone going directly into my ears. I guess I could put the phone on the tv stand to pickup the dialogue and broadcast to my ears but it shouldn’t be necessary.
The only problem trying to use hearing aids as ear pods is that hearing aids generally run about $4000+ for quality. I got my current set from a grant from the Louisiana Consortium for the Deaf, very grateful for it.

Looks like they are testing official support for this

Apple has already received FDA authorization for the ?AirPods Pro? 2 to function as an over-the-counter hearing aid, and it could be rolled out at any time. Apple has said the feature will come out this fall, so it would make sense for it to be introduced in a future iOS 18.1 beta.

Transparency mode seems legit but to me it still has a lot of background noise

Hearing aids is just another example of why the medical system isn't free markets.

I too have bluetooth hearing aids, and they are paired to my phone, the TV via my fire tv cube, and my desktop. The desktop is a new build and I chose a wifi motherboard that had built in bluetooth. My old computer I had to add a bluetooth dongle. It all works quite well, but I still prefer my noise canceling headphones over the hearing aids. The sound quality is much better. The headphones are also paired to everything through bluetooth.
