Last week I had a conversation with someone at the bar who wanted the Atlanta MLS club to be named Arsenal.

So why are the Saints not like the Saints?
For one Southampton fans are some of the most loyal fans through thick and thin.

Do you even New Orleans?

Arsenal because of their cool arse name
I'll admit that is a cool arse name and logo, and "gunners' sounds bad arse as well. I'm thinking a team within the London metro area seems a little too centralized for my aristocratic agrarian rebellion sentiments.

lulz you can't be serious
a large chunk of the saints fan base was not even around pre 2006

You don't know shite if you think otherwise.

You guys didn't even sell out the dome on a regular and just finally got a legit season ticket waiting list. I don't want to start a pissing match on this board.

lol what are you talking about.
So saints tickets when they sucked and were not in high demand are expensive?
any team even the ones with the huge fan bases ticket prices are low when the suck. NFC East teams, Steelers etc.

that really didn't answer my question
I have Saints fans in my family as well.
I'll just leave it at this b/c this isn't even worth arguing b/c it rustled jimmies. Ive seen the saints play my team twice. The first time almost no saints fans there. Second time there was a shite ton all claiming to be lifelong saints fans if you catch my drift.

Damn, we finally got a topic that doesn't have to do with the USMNT (and subjects that as soccer fans we have literally every day of our lives), and y'all are talking about the Saints.

What team is this?
The Saints have been a cultural institution in New Orleans since their founding, maybe Saints fans have not travelled very well historically (exception Atlanta), but New Orleans even in the Saints worse years was the safest city in the world during a Saints game.

Honestly the comparing European clubs to american sports franchise just doesn't work for a variety of reasons.

Compare and contrast New Orleans Saints with Southampton Saints, once thread gets back on track and the statement that NO Saints fans are fair weather being debated in relation.
